I was born in Nowra on the South Coast of NSW and lived there till my mid-teens till we moved to Wauchope near Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast of NSW. We still have alot of family history around the South Coast of NSW with historic Christian's Minde homestead and Hoffman Drive named after my great grandfather at Sussex Inlet/Swanhaven. I got my passion for Datsun 1600's at a young age from my Dad and friends from the Shoalhaven & Kiama Districts Auto Club (SKDAC) which was formed in the early 1960's and in which Dad "Hoffo" received the following club awards:-
1970 Dennis Hart Shield (Rally Champion) Richard McMasters (driver) & Paul Hoffman (navigator) 1972 Dennis Hart Shield (Rally Champion) Paul Hoffman (driver) & Greg Hoffman (navigator) 1973 The Albert Bridge Memorial Shield (Club Champion) (1971 his brother Greg received the Dennis Hart Shield award as driver with R Taylor navigator)
Dad competed in many cars like Datsun 1600's a Morris Mini Moke, Peugeot 403 and Volvo 144S but his passion was Datsun 1600's when he bought the first P510 Datsun 1600 on the South Coast of New South Wales, he also purchased one of the first few Datsun 200B SSS Coupes on the South Coast of NSW but it only survived a short stint as my parents couldn't put a baby capsule in the back seat, even though to this day he still likes the model and my parents also owned a Datsun 200B wagon when I was in primary school and their Datsun 1600 was their wedding car.
I met my best friend and partner Dr Datto four years ago when I was looking for a 1600. Since we met we have done alot of travelling for Datsuns, like trailering cars from Sydney to Brisbane and inland NSW and freighting them from Canberra and Melbourne. We have even driven to Canberra and back in a weekend in a pantek truck and filled it with a 1600 shell and parts so we are surrounded in Datsun items.
I grew up around farm life and with many different pets you could have and learning to drive at a young age, I grew up with matchbox cars, lego, bmx's, motorbikes, hunting, camping, bonfires, firecracker nights, cricket, soccer, rugby league, netball, go karts, tractors, paddock/bush basher cars like gemini wagons, xc falcons, suzuki sierras and vw beetles to name a few. We had no computers, no mobile phones, no video recorders and we lived for music from records and cassettes. We learnt to make our own fun and get outside in the fresh air and know what chores were and a hard days work was.
This website is dedicated to my family and friends. To my best friend Dr Datto and in which we have the same beliefs, ethics and drive in life and we think the same things and dream the same ideas and to my other friends and family who understand me also. My Dad who gave me the passion for Datsuns. My parents for 38yrs of marriage and my mum for putting up with my Dad's love of cars then her eldest of three daughters having the same passion and turning up with cars and car parts. My Dad also for his many handyman talents, qualified builder, aparist (beekeeper), farmer etc. which I see his many multi-talents in my partner also and for my Dad pulling through three back operations and for my Mum being there for him and us through some very hard times and now I can see that partners will stick through thick and thin when they mean so much to you.
To my grandfathers who I wish I knew, Hermann Paul Hoffmann who was tragically killed before my father was born and Vincent Harland who was tragically killed shortly after I was born and to my Dad's best friend, best man and my godfather David Rider who was tragically killed in a car incident when my father was following him home (30yrs ago on 25 August 1978) this was a few years after his daughter and myself were born, everyone loved him and I know I would have and wish I could remember you even though I feel I do through my family and to the many other people that have been an important part in my life. Miss Datsun

(my nephew now with the love for cars)
I've also found that most of my Dad's photos of his cars and other car photos are on slides between 1968 to 1980, most being of the late 1960's and early 1970's so I am endevouring to get them reproduced into photos and onto CD to add to his photo galleries.
